FPBA designed various exterior and site upgrades to an existing office building owned by Healthcare Property Investors (HCP) at 3030 Callan Road.
To incorporate a fresh aesthetic, FPBA designed metal panels to be added on all exterior stucco bands. Full glass curtain walls sit on the outside perimeter of the existing stucco facade and mark the two main entrances, creating an inviting and open presence. The lunch room was designed with accordion glass doors cut in to provide access to a new social deck featuring farm table seating.
Site upgrades included the introduction of landscaping to strengthen the relationship between entries, new smooth coat stucco finishes and decorative railing to an existing retaining wall, and a composite wood deck as an outdoor extension of the cafe. Additional landscape upgrades include new walkways, social areas, foliage and hardscape.
Although the project did not carry through to construction, FPBA fully completed the design phase, offering a valuable visioning tool to show what is possible when repurposing an existing asset.
