Aside from architecture, what could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no preparation?
It would require some advance planning to make dough and prep ingredients, but I think my most popular 30-minute presentation would be a hands-on pizza making class. We have a portable pizza oven that I would bring to the class. We would discuss the history of pizza, different pizza styles, and the key steps to making a great pizza. I would demonstrate one myself, and then after class, everyone would get a chance to make their own Neapolitan-style pizza. Then we would all eat pizza!
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
In addition to pizza-making, I enjoy fishkeeping. We have a 180-gallon saltwater aquarium that reminds me of trips to tropical destinations. After experiencing the cold water and poor visibility of the ocean in San Diego, I decided that sitting on our couch, looking at our beautiful fish, and pretending that I am in the Caribbean is a lot easier and more relaxing than going to La Jolla Shores and putting on my scuba gear.
