Where is your favorite travel destination?
Anywhere with a coastline, good food, and gelato is probably my favorite. I lived and studied in Florence for a few months and got to explore Italy while I was there, and one of the coolest places was Ortigia, in Sicily. It’s a little island near Siracusa that had some of the best sunsets and granita di caffè.
What is your favorite building and why?
E.1027 has been my favorite building ever since I learned about Elieen Gray. Her life story and career trajectory are incredibly interesting, and she was able to make huge advancements in the modern movement despite only getting mainstream recognition for it much later. E.1027 is a pioneer in human-centered modernism and Gray’s design choices not only adapt to day-to-day living, but also allow the villa to embrace the natural landscape of the site rather than dominate it.
